NSSF, USFWS & Taurus Release Latest Video In The “Partner with a Payer” Film Series

NSSF highlighted a partnership with Taurus Holdings Inc., in support of the “Partner with a Payer” initiative by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS). In the video, titled “Building Our Partnerships,” the world-class manufacturing facilities at Taurus are showcased, which have been vital to assisting the state of Georgia and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in their economic development of creating and maintaining resources for the public to utilize for outdoor activities.

Companies including firearm and ammunition manufacturers and importers contribute to the USFWS initiative by paying excise taxes into the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act (known as the Pittman-Robertson Act). More than $16.1 billion (over $25 billion when adjusted for inflation) have been contributed and distributed to individual states to allocate funds toward wildlife conservation, hunter-education programs and target shooting programs.

“This is a win-win situation for everyone involved, but especially outdoorsmen and women who are passionate about these activities and creating additional opportunities that future generations can utilize too,” said Tom Decker, USFWS brand manager.

These latest videos and others in the series were produced by Shine United LLC / Kingdom Filmworks for NSSF through a multistate conservation grant administered by the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Henry Announces Donations To Border Patrol Foundation & Pediatric Cancer Centers

Henry announced a $25,000 donation to the Border Patrol Foundation (BPF) in support of the organization’s mission to honor the memory of fallen U.S. Border Patrol agents and provide immediate financial aid to their families.

Growing in scope since its founding in 2009, BPF now offers financial assistance to agents and Border Patrol support personnel who are wounded, injured or have fallen ill while performing their duties, as well as their family members, and a scholarship program for the children of fallen Border Patrol agents.

“Henry Repeating Arms’ donation will make a very significant impact to our critical mission,” said Rowdy Adams, president of Border Patrol Foundation. “BPF is very thankful for the support and looks forward to a long-lasting relationship with Henry Repeating Arms. The generous donation supports our commitment to ‘Honoring the Memory. Serving the Families.’”

Henry also announced donations totaling $200,000 to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at Nebraska Medicine. The funds will go directly toward supporting the hospitals’ efforts in treating and caring for pediatric cancer patients, ensuring that children and their families have access to the world-class care these healthcare providers are known for.

“If I could snap my fingers and resolve one thing in this world, without a doubt, it would be childhood cancer. It’s impossible to imagine what these kids and their parents endure throughout treatment and beyond,” said Anthony Imperato, founder and CEO of Henry Repeating Arms. “Seeing the smile of positivity and confidence on the face of a kid fighting the battle of their life is all the inspiration and motivation I need to try and help support these children and their families in any way I can. Guns for Great Causes has always been about the kids, the future of America, and I am proud to make these donations in their name.”

Arkansas Children’s is the only healthcare system in the state solely dedicated to caring for children and is nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report in seven pediatric specialties, including cancer.

The donations are part of Henry Repeating Arms’ $1 million Silver Anniversary pledge through its charitable branch, Guns for Great Causes, and the company’s longstanding advocacy for American law enforcement agencies. The company has donated $275,000 to organizations supporting law enforcement personnel and their families since June 2022, including Tunnel to Towers, Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), First Responders Children’s Foundation and more.

Streamlight Donates $21,000 To National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

Streamlight announced a donation of $21,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), which included $11,000 in proceeds from sales of the company’s specially marked NFFF Red Nano Light, Red Vantage helmet light and Red Siege AA lantern. Streamlight earmarks $1, $3 and $2, respectively, from the sale of each light for the NFFF. The donation also included a $10,000 contribution for the continued Bronze level corporate sponsorship to NFFF.

Streamlight has supported NFFF through donations and sponsorships for more than 16 years. Contributions have continually assisted NFFF in commemorating the lives of firefighters who have died in the line of duty and supporting their families and colleagues.

“We hope our contributions have helped the families and surviving colleagues of the heroic fallen firefighters over the years,” said Streamlight President and CEO Ray Sharrah. “Their valor and selflessness no doubt saved the lives and property of others. We hope our donations will in some way assist those they left behind.”

Streamlight’s sponsorship helps fund scholarships awarded to spouses and children of fallen firefighters and counseling programs for agencies that have lost colleagues in the line of duty.

Congress created the NFFF to lead a nationwide effort to honor America’s fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the non-profit Foundation has developed and expanded programs that fulfill that mandate.

NSSF Recognizes The Four Sheriffs In Congress During National Police Week 2023

NSSF recognized four former sheriffs serving in Congress as Real Solutions Champions during National Police Week 2023. U.S. Reps. John Rutherford (R-Fla.), Mike Ezell (R-Miss.), Troy Nehls (R-Texas) and Clay Higgins (R-La.) were presented awards for their contributions to keeping communities safe in their law enforcement and Congressional careers. The four Congressmen embody the ethos of NSSF’s Real Solutions. Safer Communities campaign to ensure firearms remain beyond the reach of those who cannot be trusted to possess them while respecting and preserving Second Amendment rights.

“NSSF is proud to recognize these four members of Congress who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting their communities — first while wearing a badge to enforce laws in their counties and presently as representatives of their districts in Congress,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF SVP and general counsel.

Congressman Rutherford introduced the NSSF-supported bipartisan Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) Protection Act, H.R. 2620, which would strengthen and enhance criminal penalties for thefts of firearms from federally licensed firearm retailers. This legislation sends a strong message to those violent criminals engaging in these illicit activities and helps provide for safer communities, assists law enforcement and protects the livelihoods of firearm retailers.

HeadHunters NW Delivers Shooting Industry Employee Satisfaction Survey Results

HeadHunters NW, an executive recruiting firm focused exclusively and deliberately on talent acquisition for the shooting, hunting and outdoor industry, announced the results of its recent Shooting Industry Employee Satisfaction Survey.

HeadHunters NW President Shaylene Keiner shared, “The purpose of the survey is to help employers and managers in our industry better understand the needs and expectations of their workforce. And boy, did we learn some compelling things along the way.

“One surprise was the number of people preferring remote work versus an office setting. Only 14% of the respondents favored in-person work, while the remainder split between fully remote and a hybrid combination of in-person and remote work. This trend is indicative of many of the professionals we recruit for top positions in the industry. While remote work is not always practical for employers, the survey reflects this model appears to be the new normal.”

The full results and conclusions of the survey are available online.
