August Is National Shooting Sports Month
NSSF invites everyone to celebrate the shooting sports during the 2025 National Shooting Sports Month this August. Whether it’s an experienced marksman, a first-time gun owner or someone simply curious about the shooting sports, there’s no better time to get involved, improve skills and introduce someone new to the range.
Now in its eighth year, National Shooting Sports Month encourages all Americans to experience the excitement of target shooting while promoting safe and responsible firearm use. Ranges, retailers, manufacturers and industry partners across the country are joining forces to host special events, training sessions and promotions throughout the month.
“National Shooting Sports Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the values that define the shooting sports — safety, responsibility, skill development and community,” said Joe Bartozzi, president and CEO of NSSF. “Whether you’re welcoming a newcomer to the range or honing your own abilities, this month serves as a nationwide call to participate, mentor and support one of America’s longstanding recreational traditions.”

NDA Partners With GunBroker To Raise $50,000+
The National Deer Association (NDA) raised more than $50,000 through its recent fundraising auction on GunBroker.com.
By partnering with GunBroker.com, the NDA was able to tap into a national audience of passionate hunters, sportsmen and collectors. The auction featured more than 70 items, including firearms, accessories, hunting trips and one-of-a-kind experiences.
“We’re incredibly grateful to GunBroker and their engaged community for helping make this auction a resounding success,” said Lauren Varner, chief development officer of the National Deer Association. “Not only did it generate critical funding for our mission, but it also showed how passionate the hunting and shooting community is about supporting wildlife conservation.
