USA Clay Target League Breaks Spring Participation Record Again
The season is underway for 39,069 student athletes participating in USA Clay Target League (USACTL) programs this spring. Those athletes are competing on 1,973 high school, college and homeschool teams nationwide, supported by over 11,200 coaches, team staff and other volunteers. This is the 30th consecutive season of record-breaking participation since the league was founded in 2008.
“The league provides schools with the opportunity to give their students a place to develop their confidence, sportsmanship and teamwork without the high costs and limited playing opportunities of traditional sports. Clay target shooting sports are accessible to everyone, and the opportunity to participate on their school’s team influences athlete’s lives for the better,” said John Nelson, USACTL president.
For high school athletes, their nine-week spring season is already underway and will conclude on May 25. Tens of thousands of athletes will participate in state tournaments across the country in June, with the top athletes in the nation eligible to compete at the USA High School Clay Target League National Championship in July.
College athletes compete in a shorter season in the spring and return to compete in the fall season, culminating in the USA College Clay Target League National Championship in October. The League saw a 19% increase in collegiate athlete participation this season, with a similar increase in the total number of college teams
“More and more colleges and universities are capitalizing on the growth of the league to find and recruit students looking to further their education,” said Nelson. “By providing clay target sports, they’re providing an appealing, well-rounded education experience to their prospective students.”

GunBroker.com Launches Shipping Solution For Non-FFL Sellers
GunBroker.com launched a shipping solution to help address some of the issues that can arise when shipping FFL restricted goods. With the creation of a dedicated shipping solution, all sellers can ship to federal firearms license holders through a streamlined system.
For private sellers and anyone who needs to ship a firearm for servicing, to make a return or have custom work done, GunBroker’s shipping solution solves the issue of shipping company policies that make it difficult to send for anyone with a federal firearms license.
Sellers of firearms can enter the FFL number of the destination shop and labels will be automatically created. This ensures all address and shipping information is accurate and FFL status is verified.
The label is also automatically “sanitized” of any information identifying the package as containing a firearm. For example, if the recipient is “John’s Gun Warehouse,” the label will display it as “JG Warehouse” or “JGW.” In addition to meeting shipper requirements, this also prevents any information from advertising the contents of the package.
Shippers are also guided through the shipping options based on what type of firearm is being shipped. This ensures compliance with all shipping regulations and reduces headaches for the seller. For example, handguns are required to be sent by air, so those are the only options presented.
Not only does this make the process easier and safer, it also allows sellers to handle all their listing, sale, payment and shipping processes within their GunBroker space. It also keeps shipping charges within their GunBroker account for easier bookkeeping by sellers. GunBroker has also negotiated attractive pricing for this program.
The FFL shipping is live now for GunBroker sellers. Simply select it on the shipping information page and follow the prompts through shipment creation all the way up to label printing.
