Smith & Wesson Reports Record Figures, Debuts M&P Spec Kit
June 17, Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. announced financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2021, ended April 30, 2021. On August 24, 2020, the company completed the previously announced spin-off of its outdoor products and accessories business.
Quarterly net sales were $322.9 million compared with $193.0 million for the comparable quarter last year, an increase of 67.3%. Full year net sales were $1.1 billion compared with $529.6 million for the prior year, an increase of 100% — and the first time the company achieved this figure in its 169-year history.
Mark Smith, S&W president and CEO, heralded the company’s performance.
“Our employees more than doubled the prior year sales, passed a milestone of $1 billion in revenue, and by every financial and operating metric, have delivered the most successful year in the 169-year history of the company,” he said.
Smith shared Smith & Wesson achieved significant market share growth over the past year.
“During the past fiscal year, the U.S. firearms market experienced record growth of 42%, meanwhile shipments from Smith & Wesson far surpassed the industry, growing by 70%,” he noted. “Strong consumer preference for our products combined with our ability to rapidly react to the increased demand has placed us in a clear leadership position as we enter into our first full fiscal year as a standalone pure-play firearms company.”
June 15, the company released a limited edition M&P Spec Series Kit, complete with an exclusive M&P9 M2.0 or Full-Size Spec Series pistol and Crimson Trace optic. It also ships with an M&P fixed blade knife, custom M&P Series Challenge Coin and custom fit plastic case. AMERIGLO Announces Rebrand, Reorganizes Product Line
AMERIGLO has announced a rebranding of the company, with a new look and newly created product families.
“We strive to provide the highest-quality, personal protection technologies for the American people, that’s what drives us at AMERIGLO,” said Rick Callihan, AMERIGLO founder.
To create a more intuitive dealer and consumer experience, AMERIGLO has taken the previous 19 lines of products and distilled them down to 10 families. Each product family is now organized around commonly shared features that “tell a story” and place each sight into a functional category for easier selection of the right sight for the application.
These families are sold in redesigned packaging that feature the new AMERIGLO logo and brand color of yellow to stand out on dealers’ shelves. The updated packaging clearly denotes the style and compatibility of the sights. One of the currently most popular categories is AMERIGLO’s line of Optic Compatible sights, which includes heights compatible with all the major pistol-mounted red dot sights.
As part of this rebranding, AMERIGLO has also updated its website for ease of navigation by both consumers and dealer sales staff and has produced a new catalog outlining the diverse product offering.
