2023 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship Results
Athletes and teams representing 466 high schools from across the nation participated at the 2023 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship (USAHSCTL) July 5–10, 2023. The USAHSCTL National Championship, held at the Michigan Trapshooting Association in Mason, Mich., featured team and individual competitions to award the top 10 male and female high school athletes and the top five high school teams in the country.
The Individual Final was an exciting affair, with 19 athletes shooting perfect scores at the end of regular competition. Those 19 went on to compete in a grueling shoot-off, which saw recent graduate Landon Sievers from Calhoun High School of Illinois persevere to claim the Overall National Champion crown.
Audrey Gordon of Southwestern High School (IL) was one of two females who shot perfect scores and went on to compete in the shoot-off. Gorden edged out her competition to take home the title of top female in the nation.
In the Team Final, Calhoun High School took home the title of National Team Champion, their third win of the title in as many years.

Benelli Assists Upland Bird Organization’s Fundraising Initiative
As part of the Ruffed Grouse Society & American Woodcock Society’s (RGS & AWS) dedication to helping proactive conservation groups ensure hunting survives through future generations, Benelli USA recently teamed with RGS & AWS to raise needed funds these organizations leverage to foster vibrant upland habitat.
In late 2022, Benelli donated 20 Super Black Eagle 3 shotguns to RGS & AWS for a major fundraising initiative. Each donor who gifted $10,000 or more to the organizations received one of the Benelli SBE 3 shotguns. This program proved wildly successful, with $200,000 raised to support the society’s mission “to create landscapes of diverse, functioning forest ecosystems that provide homes for wildlife and opportunities for people to experience them.”

Smith’s Sporting Group Acquires Tanners Team Sports
Smith’s Sporting Group announced its acquisition of Tanners Team Sports Inc. Together, the two companies distribute over 1,000 consumer products worldwide and nationally through specialty retailers plus well-known major retailers, including Walmart, Amazon, Lowe’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shops, Academy Sports and Tractor Supply.
