SIG SAUER Acquires General Robotics

SIG SAUER announced the acquisition of General Robotics, a manufacturer of lightweight remote weapon stations and tactical robotics for manned and unmanned platforms and anti-drone applications.

Ron Cohen, SIG SAUER president and CEO said, “This acquisition will greatly enhance SIG SAUER’s growing portfolio of advanced weapon systems. The team at General Robotics is leading the way in the development of intuitive, lightweight remote weapon stations with their battle-proven solution.”

Recently, the U.S. Army selected the SIG SAUER lightweight machine gun (XM250), automatic rifle (XM7), and high-pressure hybrid ammunition for the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program, representing a historic step forward in weapons technology. The NGSW program is currently in the early stages of adoption and the U.S. Army will field the weapons at the squad level in 2023.

Heckler & Koch Launches
“HK March Mag-ness” Promotion

Heckler & Koch announced its “HK March Mag-ness” consumer rebate — offering two additional magazines with the purchase of a full-size VP9 pistol.

The promo period starts March 13, 2023, and continues through April 9, 2023. The $100 promotion offers two free magazines with any purchase of a new VP9 series full-size handgun. Shoot United Launches 2023 Nationwide Event Schedule

Shoot United is announcing 20+ events in 2023 that will be held at shooting ranges throughout the United States, with the focus of introducing participants to the shooting sports and responsible firearm education.

Each event provides individuals an opportunity to learn and ask questions of knowledgeable firearm instructors in a welcoming environment, have fun with friends and family and receive a supportive hands-on experience.

Cape Gun Works Receives NSSF Five-Star Range Rating

NSSF has awarded Cape Gun Works its Five-Star rating for range excellence.

Cape Gun Works was the dream of business partners Toby Leary and Brendon Bricklin, who wanted to open a public shooting range serving southeastern Massachusetts. Cape Gun Works occupies 20,000 sq. ft. of commercial space in Hyannis, Mass., and business is thriving.

“We are proud to provide this underserved market with a facility developed on a sound business model, and our mission is to maintain this Five-Star experience for our customers as we scale to more locations in the region as well as expand our national e-commerce footprint,” said Bricklin, co-founder of Cape Gun Works.

The range features 15 shooting lanes of 25 yards each, with all featuring head-to-toe ballistic-rated lane dividers. The lanes are rated to handle up to .50-caliber rounds.

Complementing the range is a well-lit classroom where educational classes, including NSSF’s First Shots and specialty classes for women taught by women, are conducted. Cape Gun Works emphasizes training for all levels of shooters from basic to advanced and nearly all types of shooting disciplines. Specialty classes cover handgun cleaning, first aid, introduction to archery and private and small-group instruction.

Frontier Justice Expands To Jenks, Okla.

Frontier Justice announced it is expanding to Jenks, Okla. The retailer is breaking ground on the construction of a 25,000 sq. ft. location, which will be dedicated to providing Tulsa-area residents access to Frontier Justice’s unique fashion, firearms and shooting sports experience. The new location will boast a world-class indoor shooting range, an upscale Western-chic clothing boutique and an expertly curated selection of firearms and accessories.
