What features would make for a perfect 1911? Taking input from American Handgunner readers, Publisher Roy Huntington and Les Baer of Les Baer Custom developed the American Handgunner Special Edition 1911 — which Les Baer launched earlier this year.
Chambered in .45 ACP, the American Handgunner Special Edition 1911 comes with a guarantee to shoot 3” groups at 50 yards (10-shot groups).
It’s packed with a bevy of features, including: Baer National Match 5” Government length slide with rear cocking serrations, Baer 5” Government length barrel and custom fitted stainless steel bushing, Baer low mount adjustable Rolo rear sight with tritium night sights and more.
The “retro” two-tone look of the Special Edition with hard chrome lower and blued slide was a top-requested feature by Handgunner readers. Additionally, the Special Edition’s appearance is accentuated by double-diamond custom VZ grips — highlighted with black/blue.
Two premier Baer eight-round magazines are included, along with a special custom serial number and the “American Handgunner” logo on the slide.
