Davidson’s Announces Trio of Pietta Exclusives

Davidson’s has teamed with Pietta, Italy, to create three exclusive offerings.

Following on the success of Davidson’s Exclusive single-action 1873 revolvers made available in June 2020, Davidson’s now offers two more variants of the 1873 Western. These new Davidson’s Exclusives are convertible models in that each come with two cylinders — one chambered in .45 Colt and one in .45 ACP. Offered in a 4.75″ and a 5.5″ barrel, they both feature a deep blued finish on the frame, cylinder and barrel. The triggerguard, front strap and back strap are a high-polished brass.

The sights are the open fixed type with a notch at rear and a bladed front. These 1873 models feature the traditional four-click hammer.

The companion piece to these new single-actions is the 1878 Double Barrel Deluxe Coach side-by-side shotgun. Chambered in 12 GA, it features 20″ barrels, walnut stock, 2.75″ chamber, color case-hardened receiver, fixed cylinder choke, bead sight, double trigger and double working external hammers.

“I’m really excited to see the first shipment of our new Exclusives from Pietta have arrived,” said Marshall King, Davidson’s buyer. “I’m always impressed when a manufacturer can ‘wow’ you with fit, finish and attention to detail and our partners at Pietta hit it out of the park with these new Exclusives.”

Daniel Defense Launches Foundation

Daniel Defense EVP Cindy Daniel announced the formation of The Double D Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c) 3 whose sole purpose is to advocate for and protect the Second Amendment.

The mission of The Double D Foundation is to protect the Second Amendment by growing the number of Americans involved in shooting sports, who understand the fundamentals of firearm safety and who share the core belief “the Second Amendment Defends the Rest.”

“Today there’s a tremendous opportunity to make an impact on young people and the greater shooting sports community. It’s for this reason I’ve created The Double D Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at defending the Second Amendment through education and growing the number of Americans involved in shooting sports,” said Founder Cindy Daniel. “As the founder of The Double D Foundation, and as a mother, hunter, business owner, 2A advocate and someone who just loves to shoot, I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Funds raised by The Double D Foundation, from Founders Club Members, sponsor donations and events, will go back into shooting sports initiatives through grants, events and more.

This summer, the Foundation plans to announce its inaugural banquet, which will be held later this year.

Brownells To Donate Portion Of Sales To Firearms Policy Foundation

Brownells will take a stand for freedom and declare support for the Second Amendment by donating 2% of sales on American-made products from June 22 through July 4, 2021, to the Firearms Policy Foundation.

The Firearms Policy Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that supports the charitable legal, research, and education programs of the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and FPC Law, the nation’s first and largest public interest legal team focused on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

“FPF and FPC have been effective partners in the defense of freedom,” said Brownells Chairman of the Board Pete Brownell. “Freedom is never free, and over these 13 days, your purchase helps defend our gun rights.”

“We’re honored to have the Brownell family and Brownells team standing with us in this incredibly important and pivotal time,” said FPF Chairman and FPC President Brandon Combs. “Their generous support of our work to defend the rights of the People and expand liberty evidences their resolute commitment to the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms and will allow us to apply critical resources to issues that affect millions of law-abiding people.”

The FPF is a key contributor to many important pro-rights efforts, including a Second Amendment challenge to California’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” (Miller v. Bonta) as well as recently filed challenges to Nevada’s new confiscatory ban on home-built firearms (Palmer v. Sisolak) and Illinois’ ban on handgun carry by law-abiding adults under the age of 21 (Meyer v. Raoul).
