Silencer Central Breaks Ground On New State-Of-The-Art Facility
Silencer Central has broken ground on an all-new warehouse and distribution center located adjacent to its headquarters building. The new 60,000-sq. ft. facility will house state-of-the-art inventory and distribution lines for all Silencer Central products, as well as research and development infrastructure, including an indoor shooting range.
“I am immensely proud of the hard work and dedication of our team,” said Brandon Maddox, Silencer Central CEO. “We recently celebrated a milestone of 100,000 suppressors shipped. Incredibly, by the end of 2024, we will have doubled that by shipping an additional 100,000 units, just this year. I am excited to see what the team can do with the added space and the technology we are building into the facility. In the end, it will greatly benefit our customers, which has been the goal all along — making the process of buying a suppressor simple and easy.”
The new building will house a completely automated warehouse system capable of fulfilling 2,000 orders per hour. Along with the speed automation brings comes an improvement in compliance with federal regulations, something that is vital to suppressor sales. In addition to the warehouse and distribution lines, the new facility will add to Silencer Central’s research and development capabilities by incorporating rapid prototyping technology and an indoor test range.
“When we set out to design the expansion, we knew that the level of technology we wanted and needed would be a first for South Dakota,” Maddox said. “I must admit, too, that I’m excited to see what we can do with the advanced R&D tools we are bringing in. It will allow ideas to go from the sketchpad to a working prototype in a fraction of the time.”
Moving the warehouse and distribution operations to a new building will free up roughly 20,000 sq. ft. of space in the Silencer Central headquarters, paving the way for additional staffing to keep up with the growth of Silencer Central and its business extensions, BANISH Suppressors and Delivered by Silencer Central.

Outdoor Stewards’ “Keepers Of The Wild” PSA Surpasses $1.5M In Earned Media
The Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF) “Keepers of the Wild” Public Service Announcement (PSA) has generated over $1.5 million in donated media value since its September 2024 launch.
As the largest media campaign to improve cultural acceptance of gun ownership, hunting and target shooting among the general population, the 60-second PSA features double-exposure visuals showing landscapes across the country and narration educating viewers on how hunters and target shooters have been primary funders of wildlife conservation for over 80 years.
“With research showing that the activities of hunting and target shooting have lost the support of more than ten million voting-age Americans in recent years, this messaging is more important than ever,” said Jim Curcuruto, OSCF executive director. “It’s time for the outdoor industry to wake up to the fact that we are losing cultural acceptance at an alarming rate. We need to reach beyond the choir with messages that highlight the vital contributions that gun owners, hunters and target shooters make to conservation.”
OSCF is working with project partners to distribute the “Keepers of the Wild” PSA to a network of 11,000 radio and television stations nationwide. The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive, with the PSA being picked up by stations nationwide. The campaign is projected to generate over $5 million in donated value and exceed 300 million impressions.
OSCF encourages organizations connected to hunting or target shooting to promote the PSA through newsletters, social media and website postings.

The Mule Deer Foundation Launches The Blacktail Deer Foundation
The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) has dedicated thousands of man-hours, funding and conservation work to Columbia blacktail deer and Sitka blacktail deer, and has announced significant strides in expanding its conservation work for the subspecies.
“I am excited to help lead an effort that introduces a new conservation partner, The Blacktail Deer Foundation, into the conservation community,” said Greg Sheehan, president and CEO of the Mule Deer Foundation. “Going forward, I believe our members, volunteers, stakeholders and staff will embrace this new organization, and I look forward to connecting with our new supporters who recognize the importance of blacktail deer herds, just as we do with mule deer and their habitat.”
The Blacktail Deer Foundation started off strong with a dozen “boots on the ground” conservation projects and more than $6 million of dedicated funding in blacktail deer range. Mule Deer foundation redirected current assets to focus on blacktail deer, including field biologists, fundraising staff, and 11 active chapters across California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Another 32 new chapters of The Blacktail Deer Foundation have also been chartered.
The Blacktail Deer Foundation will seek to capitalize on the grassroots chapter building, on the ground conservation projects, and localized fundraising efforts the Mule Deer Foundation has perfected over the last 30 years.
The Mule Deer Foundation and Blacktail Deer Foundation are the only conservation groups in North America dedicated to conserving mule deer and blacktail deer and their habitat. MDF and BDF are strong voices for hunters, wildlife management and conservation policy issues.
