Today, with some of the current manufacturing and distribution challenges, a great price on a substantial buy doesn’t mean much if the product isn’t shipping and he can’t get it in the hands of the consumer.

“You could be making 80 points, but if you aren’t getting them in to sell, you aren’t making jack,” Phillips said candidly. “When it comes to bow sales, it’s all about margin. My sign over the door says, ‘Archery Headquarters;’ it doesn’t say ‘Hoyt’ or ‘Mathews.’ I’m going to gravitate to the bow — and it has to be a good bow — that gives me the best margin, because a couple points a year can make a big difference.
