L3 Technologies Names Field Division VP, GM

L3 Technologies welcomed Francisco Hidalgo as VP and GM of its Field Vision Systems business; he oversees the EOTECH, VUDU and L3 Field Vision brands.

Of his appointment, Hidalgo shared, “With EOTECH’s recent award from the USSOCOM, the relaunch of VUDU precision optics and the debut of the L3 Field Vision brand of premium sporting optics, the opportunity for success and growth in our division has never been greater.”

Hidalgo brings more than 20 years of international manufacturing leadership to his new role, with extensive experience in both the consumer and defense markets. He most recently served as CEO of Heckler & Koch USA.

The Safariland Group Advances President

B. Williams

The Safariland Group announced it named Brad E. Williams president. Williams, previously the company’s EVP and COO, will report to Warren B. Kanders, chairman and CEO of Maui Acquisition Corp., Safariland’s parent company. Williams has direct responsibility for all business units and corporate functions within Safariland. Outgoing President Scott O’Brien transitioned to chairman of The Safariland Group.

“In order to build the business and preserve the rich legacy Safariland has built over its 55 years, I began a journey two years ago to find my successor,” commented O’Brien. “I met Brad and quickly recognized he was the person to lead the company into the future.”

Burris Company Inc. Selects Sales Manager

T. Fulton

Todd Fulton recently joined Burris as sales manager where he is responsible for executing long-term sales and channel initiatives in the U.S.

Burris Company Senior VP of Sales Paul Carey said, “Fulton’s familiarity with the Burris and Steiner brands, lifetime of sales experience in our industry and passion for the outdoors are exactly what we were looking for in a new sales manager.”

Fulton, whose family owned a sporting goods store, joins Burris with more than 25 years of combined sales and retail experience. During his tenure at Jim Ferry & Associates, he managed a variety of distribution channels including: L.E., distributors, independent retailers, buy groups and retail distribution.


M. Hanish

AMMO Inc. announced the appointment of Mark Hanish as president of global commercial sales and marketing.

Fred W. Wagenhals, chairman and CEO of AMMO Inc., said, “In addition to his proven sales experience, we are excited to leverage Mark’s entrepreneurial background. … Mark’s skill set, experience and passion for the industry make him the ideal leader for this role.”

Hanish recently served as VP of sales and marketing at SureFire. He was also senior director of commercial sales at FN America where he was involved with product development for commercial and L.E. sales.


Outtech Inc Expands Sales Teams

Outtech announced the additions of Justin Payne to the Outdoor team and Clint Nicholson to the Western team. Payne will work with accounts in South Carolina and Georgia, while Nicholson will concentrate on Southern California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Payne has more than seven years’ experience in sales and marketing in the hunting and archery industry. He previously worked as a national sales manager for an archery accessory manufacturer.

Nicholson’s five-plus years of sales and marketing experience in the industry include roles as a manufacturer’s sales rep and district sales manager for a large firearm manufacturer. He earned a bachelor’s from Cal Poly State University in agricultural systems management.

Hunter Nation Appoints CEO

Hunter Nation, a non-profit organization committed to wildlife conservation, multi-use public lands and educating legislators, selected Mark DeYoung as CEO.

Prior to his appointment, DeYoung served as the chairman and CEO of Vista Outdoor, the firm he founded in 2015. He also served as the CEO of ATK, a premier sporting, defense and aerospace company. He is a life member of Pheasants Forever, the Wild Sheep Foundation, Quail Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the NRA. 

Modular Driven Technologies Taps PR Manager

Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) tapped Matt Hornback for the position of public relations manager. In this role, he will provide marketing and public/media relations strategy and manage trade shows and event sponsorships. He will also coordinate MDT’s sponsored shooting team and document their match performances.

He previously held positions in marketing communications, as well as director of product development, for Legacy Sports International. Hornback earned his commission in the Nevada Army National Guard as a combat engineer officer where he still serves.

Rogers Sports Marketing Welcomes Team Member

Drake Hollander joined Rogers Sports Marketing where he is responsible for servicing customers in Virginia and the Coastal Carolinas.

His experience stems from positions in the outdoor industry, customer service and guide-services industry. Hollander earned a B.S. in wildlife and fisheries from Virginia Tech.

NSSF Adds Board Member

Mark Boyadijan was recently appointed to the NSSF board of governors. He currently serves as co-chairman of the board at Remington Outdoor Company and is recently retired as a SVP of Franklin Templeton Investments. 

Boyadjian holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Bill Hicks & Co. Ltd. Advances Purchasing Agent

Bill Hicks & Co. announced the promotion of Jeff Waddle to senior purchasing agent. Waddle joined the company six years ago with over 20 years of merchandising experience.

Zanders Sporting Goods Grows Sales Team

Ryan Oliver joined Zanders’ sales department with a strong background in firearm sales and logistics. He graduated from Trinidad Junior College with an associate’s in applied science in gunsmithing. 

Prior to Zanders, he oversaw three firearms departments and large staff at Cabela’s.

Outtech Inc. Expands Analytics Team

Outtech welcomed a new addition to their growing sales analytics team. As retail analyst, Beth Kiebler will focus on Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream.

Keibler has over 11 years’ experience working at Dick’s Sporting Goods corporate office where she was involved with systems/logistics, product management and inventory planning.

She earned a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in finance and accounting from Geneva College.
