The Remington 700 VTR is definitely one of the best products of 2008 with it's unique triangular, ported barrel.

The best new product I saw at SHOT 2008 was the rimfire conversion for the Blaser R93 rifle.

The products available from Magpul were also very innovative and very neat.

I would say Ruger has a couple of winners with the LCP and the Charger 22.

As summer approaches, the LCP will be a winner with the concealed carry markets as a nice alternative to a market that Kel-Tec has not been able to keep up with.

The Charger is high on the fun factor and with the high prices of ammunition these days - a cheap date to shoot.

Ruger did it for me with the Charger 22. With rising ammo costs and the cost of living going up every day, I think people are going to start changing there shooting habits and start shooting more rimfire, I know I have. Also with the amount of aftermart parts on the market, its going to be a huge success.

Sturm, Ruger, & Co. have successfully entered the small gun market with a superb product, the Ruger LCP. This excellently appointed and designed firearm is filling a very strong niche in our inventories at Myrtle Beach Indoor Shooting Range here in sunny South Carolina. The price points are good, quality is excellent, the only drawback is an extremely limited product supply. Hopefully this will change soon.

Was very happy to see RUGER come out w/their new LCD, to take up the void where Keltec did not make enough P3-AT's. The newest "fingerprint" Bio-Safes by Winchester are neat. I think the newest .327 caliber will be hot...ONCE the round is delivered. Ammo costs...still a huge problem. Delivery of new products, another problem. Life continues....

I think the Ruger LCP will be one of the best products "if" and only "if" Ruger can get their start up problems solved. I am a very small dealer/gunsmith that has been trying to get the Kel-Tec P3-AT since October 2005. I have been told by my 5 distributors that there aren't receiving these firearms from Kel-Tec. I confronted Kel-Tec with my needs and concerns at the 2007 S.H.O.T. Show. All I got from Kel-Tec is we are runing 7 days a week. From all the new rifles being announced; Kel-Tec is mis-using their resources on firearms that are not in demand and not doing enough to meet the needs of the consumer and dealer. If Kel-Tec is producing the P3-AT where are they being shipped to? More power to Ruger! May they eat Kel-Tec's lunch!
P.S. The Spam Code is Illegible. What a Damn Joke!

Best product is the Yellow Jacket MAGNUM bolt buffer from CheapGunParts.com This is the first 10/22 Magnum buffer that I have seen that really works. It is a two piece system with a back brace and is formulated to optimize the bolt timing.

Ruger LCP will be the top selling firearm, especially if they meet the public demand that kel-tec is failing to do. Kudos to Ruger. Taurus would be with the Judge if they would at least attempt to meet the demands of the consumer.

How about the new MX flashlights from Leupold. Just the company's name will sell them.

Your stupid code is too hard to figure out. This is my fourth try. You really do not want a lot of dealers to use this do you. You must be withh the ATF because you have taken something simple and made it hard to do.

I'm SO glad to see that the bigger dealers are happy with the new ruger 380. We smaller dealers sure would like to have one or two to sell to our customers as well. Likewise the Taurus Judge. Have been trying to get the Taurus for 8 Mos. and the Ruger for about 5 Mos. Seems like the Ruger LCP 380 and the Taurus Judge would be on the list if a small shop could get any of them. Bushmaster .223s in 16in bbls also are good sellers.

I have asked Davidsons and Marlin to make a limited run of 1000 39A's 250 in round 24" 250 in round 20" 250 in 24 oct. 250 in 20" oct with the orginal 1897 spec. with the thin forarm and the orginal marlin S pistolgrip stock they would sell very well. but no one want to make it the marlin collectors ass. has asked for them for years from marlin and they will not make the orginal stock design. IT WOULD SELL.I know I could sell a lot of them. I wish I had the resources to order the lot by my self.

I pick the following for best in 2008! Remington 700 VTR,Tikka T-3 SS Laminated, Ruger 380 LCP and the Taurus Judge. Can't wait for another manufacturer to duplicate the Judge like Ruger did the Kel-Tec P3-AT. Taurus and the big dealers deserve each other!!

I am impressed with the S$W iBolt. I would like to see it come out in other calibers such as .243. I haven't purchased one yet because I am a small dealer but I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase an affordable rifle. The barrel is made by Thompson Precision and I would truly love to have a .25-06. The wife says no for now...so be it.

I did purchase a dpms and would highly recommend any model and they have a few new ones, and mine is a tack driver.

As an LE dealer and sell to the hunting community I'm impressed with the FNH five n seven, very little recoil and a 20 round clip to boot, great for stopping Ferel Hogs in Texas, with a can on it, its extremly quiet for a fast moving round and the ergodynamics are awesome. Another choice for home use (against the bad guys) is the new Remington 870 Marine XSC Extreme with the loading stock.
For long rifles nothing compares to the Accuracy Inernational, out of the box an impressive weapon any caliber if your customer has the funds.
Thanks

Ruger's LCP seems as if it would be a hit, but I cannot get my hands onto one. On the same note, Ruger has missed the mark on the SP101 in 327mag. Why not try to make an airweight SP101 in 38spl? It would have made a lot more sense given the price of ammo. They would not have needed the caliber change to sell more revolvers. S&W is spanking Ruger's butt in that respect. Ruger's Charger 22 should have come out 5 years ago. Ruger missed the mark yet again. Millett's DMS scope is a huge hit. I'm still selling a ton of Kel Tec P32's when I can get them as well as S&W 637's. BTW. Ammunition companies are going to be the death of our sport and our businesses. The greed has to stop. Quit trying to get rich off of the war!

DPM Systems Technologies Recoil System for pistols is my pick for best new product. With a simple recoil rod replacement you can reduce the recoil of your pistol around 40%, there is no easier mod for your pistol that can do that. They are the only recoil rod manufacturer in the world that has a three spring system (patented). We resell them and can't keep them on our shelves. See for yourselves at www.dpmsystems.com

My first pick is the Marlin Model 60 semi-automatic for $179. One of my next picks would be the Remington Model 798; for the money spent and the quality of the gun it's a great pick in almost any caliber. Just about the full Savage line with the wood stocks and the accutrigger; in almost all calibers for about $495-- accurate, good-looking and fun to shoot.
At the bottom of the list, way down, would be the Ruger 10/22 LZ in camo - for $504 is way too much money for what it is.

The Ruger LCP and Taurus Judge are the pistols most requested by our customers. But, if you can't get them to sell then they are of little use to us. We were doing well with the Ruger SR-9 until they were recalled for safety reasons. Now we are stuck with SR-9s we can't sell until Ruger fixes them. New items are hard for small dealers to get since the distributors cater more to the big guys. So, we are doing the best we can with the tried and true S&W Sigma, Springfield XD,and Taurus Millinium.
